Manchester United faced yet another setback in their hopes of making Top 4 this season as they dropped 3 points away to Everton at Goodison Park. Man United failed to create any meaningful chances and didn’t trouble the hosts who ran out with a comfortable 1-0 win. Ronaldo was frustrated most of the game as his team failed to create any goal scoring chances for him and he had a quiet game.
David De Gea in his post match interview expressed his frustration and admitted that the Top 4 is surely slipping away from Man United’s hands:
“It’s a disgrace from us, we should be winning this game. We don’t score but we don’t create proper chances to score. We are not good enough that is for sure. It will be difficult to finish in the top four.”
Man United’s interim Manager Ralf Rangnick also gave his thoughts about the game in the post match interview:

βWe had a good start and should have created more chances out of that domination. Then we concede a deflected shot and lost a bit of our composure. If you don’t score a single goal in 95 minutes, you have to be disappointed.β
βThe Top four is difficult. As long as we don’t win our own games it doesn’t make sense to hope for good results from the other teams.β
One incident which has caught fire at the end of the game was a video of Cristiano Ronaldo smashing a fan’s phone while walking towards the tunnel at the end of the game. Ronaldo seemed to be frustrated with the game’s outcome and the video clearly shows him smashing the fan’s phone to the ground.
Manchester United are aware of the incident and looking into the matter and if found guilty Cristiano Ronaldo would be facing heavy fine and a suspension of up to 4 Premier League games.
