Liverpool’s League Cup semi-final ties against Arsenal have already been set, ensuring a busy start to the month of January.
With a remarkable comeback against Leicester at Anfield on Wednesday night, Jurgen Klopp’s team qualified for the League Cup’s final four for the first time in four years.
In the final four, Liverpool will face Arsenal, while Chelsea will face Tottenham in the other semi-final.
The first match will take place on January 6 at the Emirates, with the return game taking place on January 13 at Anfield.
The possibility of a one-off tie, which Klopp favored, has now been ruled out.
Because both games will happen during the Africa Cup of Nations, the Reds will be without Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita.
Between the two ties, Liverpool has a very busy start to the New Year, as they travel to Chelsea in the Premier League on January 2 and host Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup on January 9.
The match against Brentford on January 15 has also been rescheduled for the following day, since the Reds would have otherwise been scheduled to play twice in three days.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s Premier League visit on February 26 has been rescheduled owing to one of the two teams’ participation in the League Cup final on February 27.
