Ten Hag reveals the conversation with Ronaldo during Juventus Ajax

Erik Ten Hag is set to overtake at Manchester United next season. The Dutch Manager left Ajax after winning the Eredivisie and finishing on a high. Ten Hag has a tough challenge at Man United as the Red Devils have struggled for silverware for the last 5 years. Ten Hag’s biggest challenge will be to add winning mentality to the team.

Man United star player Cristiano Ronaldo is rumored with a move away from Old Trafford. The Portuguese is shocked by the drop in standards at Man United. United failed to qualify for the Champions League which adds further doubts on Ronaldo’s future.

However, the new Boss has expressed his desire for Ronaldo to stay and be a part of his project next season. In a recent interview, Ten Hag said:

“Ronaldo is a giant, because of what he’s already shown and I think he’s still very ambitious. Of course I would like to keep him. He’s been very important to Manchester United this year and can produce great statistics.”

Now in a newly released video by Ajax, it is again showed Ten Hag fondly talking about the Portuguese star. Ronaldo and Ten Hag came across during the Champions League Quarter Final in 2019 when Juventus faced Ajax.

The host asked Ten Hag about the incident to which he answered:

“That was an interesting chat. I think it was about a decision the referee made that went our way. I made a joke about it. He’s a true winner and a magnificent player. I can’t wait to work with him.”
