Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are arguably one of the greatest duos the Premier League has ever seen. The two were World Class on the field and helped Man United to a number of titles including a Champions League success in Moscow and a threepeat of Premier League titles. However, the duo has been recently involved in a bit of an off field banter. Rooney appeared on Sky Sports Monday Night Football show where he talked about Ronaldo’s season at Manchester United.

Rooney was questioned if Ronaldo’s signing has worked for Man United this season to which the former Man United Captain said: “No. Ronaldo has scored goals, he’s scored important goals in the Champions League early on in the season. He’s scored the hat-trick against Tottenham, but I think if you look into the future of the club, you have to go with younger, hungry players to lift Manchester United over the next 2-3 years.”
Rooney’s comments didn’t sit too well with Ronaldo as he commented “Two Jealous” on Rooney’s Instagram post about the Monday Night football show on Sky Sports.

Rooney was asked about Ronaldo’s jealous comments in his pre match press conference to which Rooney said:
“I actually saw that this morning and I’d probably say that there’s not a football player on the planet who isn’t jealous of Cristiano. The career he’s had, the trophies he’s won, the money he’s earned, his six pack, his body. I think every player bar probably Lionel Messi is jealous of Cristiano.”
Cristiano Ronaldo would be looking to once again put his doubters to silence when he returns to the field vs Everton this weekend. Ronaldo has so far scored 18 goals for the Red Devils this season making him the club’s highest scorer. The last eight games will be extremely important for Ronaldo and Man United as they continue their fight for the top 4 spot.
