Cristiano Ronaldo once again delivered for Man United in a 1-1 draw vs Chelsea. The Red devils had their backs against the wall when Chelsea scored and took a 1-0 lead. However, Ronaldo responded with a wonderfully taken volley to bring his side back on level terms and share the points.
This was Ronaldo’s 17th goal in the Premier League this season. Ronaldo is 2nd in the Premier League’s Top Scorer list only 5 goals behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah who has played an extra 4 games.
Its remarkable the numbers Ronaldo is producing at the age of 37 in the Premier League. United have been a very inconsistent side throughout the season. Ronaldo would have definitely scored more goals in a better team.
Man United legend Roy Keane in the post match show on Sky Sports said: “Imagine if Cristiano Ronaldo was playing in the Chelsea Team. He’d get 50 goals.”
Ronaldo’s future at Man United is pretty much uncertain as the Red Devils have failed to make it to the Top 4. Man United’s interim Manager Ralf Rangnick was asked if the Portuguese will continue with Man United next season to which he replied:
“It is Erik Ten Hag’s and also Cristiano’s decision for what he can do next, but today his performance was really great.”
“Not only the goal Cristiano scored but his whole performance, his attitude at age of 37, this is not normal to do that. If he plays like he did today he can still be a big help to this team.”
Cristiano Ronaldo is Man United’s top scorer this season with 23 goals in all competitions. His goals has won the most points for Man United in the Premier League and without his goals, Man United could be below Top 10 in the Premier League standings.
