Lucas Vazquez always manages to find a way into Real Madrid’s lineup.

Carlo Ancelotti is starting to figure out which members of his Real Madrid side can be trusted, with Thibaut Courtois, Karim Benzema, David Alaba, Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, and Casemiro at the top of the list, but Lucas Vazquez might be added to the mix as well.

Despite not being considered a sure starter at right-back or as a right winger, the versatile Galician has appeared in 13 of Real Madrid’s 16 games thus far this season.
In the two aforementioned positions, Lucas may have Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo Goes, Marco Asensio, and even Eden Hazard ahead of him in the pecking order, yet he always finds a way to come into the lineup.

With eight starts and five substitute appearances this season, the 30-year-old has played the eighth-most minutes in Ancelotti’s team.

Lucas is adored by Real Madrid’s coaches.
Lucas has played a significant part for the coach, whether it is Rafa Benitez, Ancelotti, Zinedine Zidane, Julen Lopetegui, or Santiago Solari, since his return to Real Madrid in 2015 after a successful season-long loan stint at Espanyol.

Since rejoining Real Madrid, Lucas has won 11 trophies, including three Champions Leagues, two LaLiga Santander crowns, and two European Super Cups, while making 253 appearances for the club.

Lucas reached his peak with the Real Madrid first squad during the 2017/18 season, recording an amazing 53 games in which he scored eight goals and made 16 assists.
Then, after impressing so well at right-back in the absence of the injured Carvajal last season, there were demands for him to be included in Luis Enrique’s Spain team for Euro 2020, but an injury in the second Clasico of the season ended his season prematurely.

Despite his future seemed uncertain at times last season, Lucas’ efforts in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign earned him a new contract at Real Madrid until 2024, and he has once again found himself firmly in the first-team picture under Ancelotti in 2021/22.
