Ricardo Kaka chooses between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are two of the biggest superstars in World Football. They have lit up the football field for well over a decade and inspire a whole generation of superstars. Both superstars have pushed each other to bring the very best out of them.

Ronaldo had a very good season with a struggling Manchester United side where he has managed to score 22 goals in all competitions so far. Messi on the other hand has struggled after his move to Paris. He has only managed 9 goals whole season having only 4 goals in Ligue 1.

Ricardo Kaka who won the Ballon d’Or in 2007 talked about Messi and Ronaldo in an interview with YouTube channel Podpah. Kaka was asked to pick between Ronaldo and Messi to which he replied:

“I will separate (Messi and Ronaldo) like this: one is a genius and the other has a very strong mentality. Now, if you ask me who I want for my team, I would choose Cristiano. The chance of his failure is very small. He is very determined, focused.”

Kaka chose Cristiano Ronaldo for his strong mentality. Ronaldo has often turned the most impossible ties and this is why Kaka believes the Portuguese would be a better fit in his team.

The fact Messi has struggled in his first season outside Barcelona would also be one of the facts why Kaka chose to go with the former Real Madrid man, who adapts to any team and any circumstances.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka played together at Real Madrid for 4 years before the Brazilian went back to AC Milan in 2013. Ronaldo and Kaka had an amazing chemistry on the field and it was the injuries to Kaka which didn’t let us see more of this wonderful duo. The two superstars joined Real Madrid in 2009.
