Manchester United visit Anfield today in an extremely important fixture in the Premier League. Man United are battling hard for the Champions League spot and they currently sit 5th in the Premier League table. United would be looking to salvage some points from their trip to Anfield to keep their Top 4 chances alive.
Man United’s star player Cristiano Ronaldo is a doubt for the Liverpool game. Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez was expecting twins. However, yesterday Cristiano Ronaldo broke the unfortunate news that one of the twins, a baby boy has passed away and only the girl was born. Ronaldo took to his Instagram account to share the unfortunate news:
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Ronaldo’s participation was considered doubtful after the news broke out and now Manchester United have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be a part of Manchester United squad for the game vs Liverpool tonight.
Ronaldo is Manchester United’s top scorer this season with 21 goals in all competitions. He has also scored an impressive 15 goals in the Premier League. Cristiano’s absence leaves a big space in the Man United squad and they’d be hoping for the likes of Rashford, Sancho or Elango to step up in the Portuguese’s absence. Man United have also previously used Bruno Fernandes as a striker so that might also be a possibility tonight.
