Cristiano Ronaldo and Gerard Pique played together at Manchester United before they became rivals at Real Madrid and Barcelona. The duo fought some epic battles during the Clasicos and it was a rivalry appreciated by the fans.
Ronaldo had the upper hand in most of the Clasicos over Pique but Pique did have his fair share in the same fixture. Cristiano also holds the record of scoring the most goals against Barcelona by any player. That record should sum up how amazing Ronaldo was in that fixture.
Cristiano Ronaldo returned back to Manchester United in the summer. He has scored an impressive 24 goals in all competitions this season. Ronaldo has 18 goals in the Premier League and he would be hoping to touch the 20 mark with 2 games still left to play.
Ronaldo’s career started from Sporting and then he made the big move to Manchester United. Ronaldo then left the Red Devils in 2009 to go to Spain and join Real Madrid. Ronaldo left Madrid in 2018 and joined Juventus where he spent 3 years before making his move back to the Premier League.
Ronaldo’s former teammate and rival Gerard Pique was asked to pick the best version of Ronaldo in an interview with Gary Neville to which he answered:
“Ronaldo played more as a winger in Man United, in Madrid he started playing as a striker, scored many goals and was important in Real Madrid’s success in the Champions League and league titles.”
“It’s hard to choose but maybe I’ll say Real Madrid because they’ve won more trophies.”
Pique picks Real Madrid Ronaldo as the best version of Ronaldo. Ronaldo scored a massive 450 goals for Real Madrid in 9 years averaging 50 goals a season. These numbers are very unlikely to be repeated by any player.
