David Beckham and his 18-year-old son Cruz were seen enjoying the first leg of the semi-finals between Real Madrid and Manchester City at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday. The famous father and son duo were dressed smartly in jackets and shirts as they watched the game, with Beckham posing for countless selfies with fans before the match began.
During the match, Beckham was captured on camera by BT Sport leaning forward and smiling, showing his support for his former team. Beckham played for Real Madrid for four years, appearing in 159 games for the club. He won one LaLiga title with Real Madrid during his four-year stint with the club from 2003 to 2007, as the team won the league in the 2006/07 season.
The match itself did not disappoint, with Real Madrid’s Vinicius scoring a stunning goal from outside the box to give the home team the lead. However, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne drew level in the second half with a 20-yard strike after being set up by Ilkay Gundogan. The 1-1 draw means that it’s all perfectly poised for the second leg, which takes place at the Etihad in Manchester next Wednesday.
It remains to be seen if Beckham will also attend the second leg in the city where he first made his name. Nevertheless, the former footballer and his son enjoyed a special match, soaking up the atmosphere in the stands and cheering on their favorite team.
