Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to Wayne Rooney’s comments where he called Ronaldo’s signing back to Manchester United a “mistake” from the club. Manchester United brought Ronaldo back last summer from Juventus and the Portuguese has returned with 18 goals across all competitions so far this season. Cristiano Ronaldo is Manchester United’s Top Scorer this season and the Portuguese has also been named Man United’s player of the month 3 times since his return to the club.
Ronaldo has also won the Premier League player of the month in his first month back and his goal vs Tottenham has also received the Goal of the month award. Cristiano Ronaldo despite winning the awards didn’t seem much happy as he wants more collectively.

“Individual achievements are always welcome, but they’re worth so much more when they are connected to collective wins. There are still many things to fight for until the end of the season and we can never quit on achieving the goals that remain possible and within our reach,” wrote Cristian on his Instagram after receiving the two most recent awards.
Wayne Rooney appeared on Football show Monday Night Football on Sky Sports where he was asked if Ronaldo’s signing has worked for Manchester United to which he replied:
“No. Ronaldo has scored goals, he’s scored important goals in the Champions League early on in the season. He’s scored the hat-trick against Tottenham, but I think if you look into the future of the club, you have to go with younger, hungry players to lift Manchester United over the next 2-3 years.”
Rooney’s comments received mixed reaction from the fans as some said Rooney is spot on while some claimed the former Man United player is jealous of Ronaldo’s success. However, Cristiano Ronaldo has himself responded to the comments.
In an Instagram post by Wayne Rooney which read: “Great night on Monday night football #MNF @23_carra @davidbgjones”, Cristiano replied: “Two jealous” referring to both Rooney and Carragher as being jealous of Ronaldo’s success.

Ronaldo missed Manchester United’s game vs Leicester City due to some illness but he’ll be back in action vs Everton this weekend when Manchester United travel to Goodison Park.
