Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly met with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal. Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United has a lot of uncertainty to it. Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League and haven’t made any significant moves in the transfer window.
Man United’s ambitions have put doubts in Cristiano’s mind who wants to play the last few years of his career in the Champions League. Ronaldo was Man United’s Top Scorer last season scoring 18 Premier League Goals and 6 Champions League Goals. Ronaldo managed a number of amazing comebacks for Man United but his team collectively was just not up to the level.
Cristiano Ronaldo still has a month to decide where he wants to play next season. Man United have made it clear that Ronaldo is not for sale but the Portuguese is not convinced with Man United’s project next season.
Although he welcomed the arrival of new coach Erik Ten Hag but since then Cristiano hasn’t seen much promise shown by Man United in the transfer window.
David Ornstein, Football correspondent of Athletic UK has reported that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met Cristiano’s agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal last week. Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea was among one of the subjects discussed.
Manchester United expect the Portuguese to stay but the club will not come in his way if Ronaldo decides to leave.
However, a move to Chelsea seems pretty much unlikely. If Ronaldo decides to leave Manchester United then it would be somewhere out of England and not in England.
