Casemiro: I’ll tell my grandkids that I was on the same team as Modric and Kroos.

Casemiro, a Real Madrid midfielder, has expressed how much he admires his engine-room teammates Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, whom he feels future generations will remember.

In a recent interview, the Brazilian international revealed that playing alongside those two is something he’ll be able to brag about for the rest of his life.

“It’s a joy to play for such a long time at the greatest club in the world, and I suppose I’ll only really understand the magnitude of what I’ve accomplished when it all comes to an end one day,” Casemiro told ESPN.

“It’s an honor to play with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

“I’ll treasure the fact that I got to play with them for a long time, and I’ll tell my grandkids that I got to play with two amazing players, two game icons.”

The Brazil international also had high regard for another Madrid legend, Karim Benzema, whom he believes deserves more individual acclaim.
“It’s an honor to play alongside Benzema, and I fully support him in winning the Ballon d’Or,” Casemiro stated.

Of course, the 29-year-old was questioned about his compatriot Vinicius Junior, who has received high praise this season and is a teammate for both club and country.

“What I can say is that Vinicius is in great shape right now, it’s a wonderful era for him, and he’s still young, so there’s a lot of room for him to improve.”
Carlo Ancelotti, whose first term at the club ended just as he was getting into the squad, has been pleased with Casemiro, who has been a fixture of the Madrid midfield for years under different managers.

“He’s 62 years old, has played football for nearly 40 years, and has won everything,” Casemiro said. “But his passion to win and share his expertise with us every day is tremendous.”
