Cristiano Ronaldo came back to Manchester United last summer. The Portuguese has scored 24 goals in all competitions for Man United. Ronaldo is the third highest goal scorer in the Premier League. 37 year old Cristiano has outscored players like Harry Kane, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota in the Premier League.
Ronaldo’s numbers prove that despite his age the Portuguese is still very capable to perform at the highest level. Collectively, Man United had a very bad season as they failed to win any silverware. This is Cristiano’s first trophy less season since 2009-10 when he failed to win a trophy in his first season at Real Madrid.
Manchester Untied face Brighton in the Premier League tomorrow in their second last game of the season. Brighton Manager Graham Potter talked about Cristiano in his post match press conference:
“I have been so impressed with him. How he’s played, how he’s helped his team. He’s scoring goals, his movement is sensational. You can see how his career’s developed from wide to now centrally and how that can help him now.”
Graham Potter also said that it will be a great experience for his players to learn from Cristiano:
“Obviously he is not getting any younger but you still retain your brain and football understanding and his finishing is clinical as you’ll get. Great experience for our players.”
Despite all the praise, Brighton boss made a funny wish hoping that Cristiano doesn’t have a good game against his team:
Hopefully Cristiano won’t have such a good day against us on Saturday.”
Ronaldo with 18 Premier League goals has already matched his 2008-09 season tally at Manchester United. He would want to finish with more and hopefully hit 20 goals in the Premier League.
