Brazil winger Rodrygo talks about Brazil’s potential opponents at the World Cup this year. Brazil haven’t won the prestigious prize since 2002 and they are one of the favorites to lift the title almost 20 years later. Unlike previous year, the World Cup this time won’t be held in Summer. The World Cup will take place in winter in Qatar to compensate the high temperatures during the summer.
Rodrygo had a fantastic season for Real Madrid scoring 9 times and assisting 10 times, his best return since he joined the club. Rodrygo’s Semi Final brace vs Manchester City was vital to help Real Madrid get through to the Final which they eventually went on to win.
Rodrygo talked about Brazil’s chances at this winter’s World Cup in Qatar and admitted he’s fearful of one specific team.
“There’s this talk in the national team, yes. We always talk about it, who we can get in the Cup, who the opponents will be and such, we always talk about the World Cup, the opponents and such.”
“We even joked with the Benzema, we say we’re going to catch him and eliminate him, but then he jokes that Militão will give him a penalty and stuff, we always joke. We always talk about the World Cup, draw and opponents, yes, in the national team and even in the club.”
“I see Brazil very well and among the favourites, regardless of whether we see the other teams, play against them and such, I see us very well. I see France very well, I’m a little afraid of Portugal. A man there (Cristiano Ronaldo) can do anything, right? Help me there, Caio.”
The Brazilian admitted that he doesn’t want to face Cristiano’s Portugal as he’s too worried about the impact Cristiano can have on big games.
