Bayern Munich Sporting Director responds to Cristiano Ronaldo rumors

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to a move away from Manchester United. The Portuguese was in amazing form for Manchester United last season but the club failed to lift their level and play to Ronaldo’s level. Despite scoring the most match winners in the Premier League, Ronaldo’s efforts went in vain as his team finished 6th.

Man United’s inability to qualify for Champions League football has put doubts over Ronaldo’s future. Cristiano Ronaldo is also not satisfied with Man United’s activity in the transfer window as they haven’t done anything to reinforce the squad.

Ronaldo has been linked with a number of teams. A return to Madrid and Juventus is also rumored but we believe that is just a rumor and a Ronaldo return is far from reality for these clubs.

Ronaldo has also been linked to AS Roma. Surprisingly, Roma want the Portuguese to return to Serie A but this move also seems unlikely as Roma don’t have UCL Football either.

The biggest link up was Ronaldo to Bayern Munich and many sports pages reported that the move depends on Lewandowski’s departure.

However, Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidžić has cleared the air on Ronaldo to Bayern Munich rumors. In an interview with Florian Plettenberg, Sky Sports reporter for Bayern, Hasan Salihamidžić said:

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player with an outstanding career. However, stories on potential deal with Bayern are NOT true. These rumors have no truth.”
