Barcelona issue warning to U18 player who did Ronaldo celebration

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most disliked personalities in Barcelona. Ronaldo has scored the most number of goals against Barcelona by any player. Ronaldo played for Barcelona’s closest rival Real Madrid for 9 straight years and he was a constant pain to Barcelona. Ronaldo’s famous “calma calma” and “shirt off” celebrations still live fresh in the minds of Barcelona fans.

Although the rivalries should not go beyond the football field but that doesn’t seem to be the case with FC Barcelona. Barcelona Juvenil A player Fermin Lopez scored a spectacular goal in U18 Spanish League and went on to celebrate like Cristiano Ronaldo.

The video soon went viral on Twitter as fans from around the World begin to appreciate Cristiano’s influence. This Ronaldo appreciation didn’t sit right with FC Barcelona.

Fermin Lopez scored a spectacular overhead kick to level the game for Barcelona Juvenil A. Barcelona went on to win the game 3-2 vs Cornella Juvenil A.

However, the video of Fermin Lopez goal has been taken down from Barcelona’s Official TV because he celebrated like Ronaldo. Barcelona also censored the footage they posted on their social media accounts to cut off the Ronaldo celebration.

The removal of Ronaldo celebration is a clear warning to Fermin Lopez and several other La Masia young talents to stop copying Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s SIUUU celebration has become a trademark celebration in the World of sports.

Although it doesn’t seem an appropriate move for a club of Barcelona’s magnitude but Barcelona has made it clear that they have no love for Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

For the amount of pain Cristiano Ronaldo has caused to Barcelona, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Barcelona clearly wants none of their youngsters to idolize Ronaldo.
