Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spectacular hattrick for Manchester United to save them from a defeat to Norwich City. Ronaldo’s three goals helped Man United win 3-2 and move up to 5th position in the Premier League standings. Ronaldo scored two first half goals for United but Norwich pulled one back before Half Time. Then early in the second half, Teemu Pukki brought his team level with a fantastic before Cristiano Ronaldo unleashed a venomous Free Kick to win the Game for Man United.
Cristiano Ronaldo was named Man of the Match for his hattrick and received the match ball. Ronaldo then gave the hattrick Match ball to 17 year old Argentine footballer Alejandro Garnacho who plays for Man United youth team. Garnacho is a huge Ronaldo fan and soon after receiving the match ball he posted on Instagram: “Greatest of all time. Cristiano Ronaldo.”
The post gained a lots of interaction but Sergio Aguero and some fellow Argentines didn’t like Garnacho calling Cristiano Ronaldo the greatest player of all time.
Soon after Garnacho’s instagram post calling Ronaldo the GOAT, Aguero commented: “Because you still haven’t played with the best Lionel Messi” a comment which reeks of insecurity.
Garnacho’s instagram post was soon filled with number of Argentines commenting: Messi, Messi and Messi.
Its a weird reaction from the Argentines to a 17 year old praising his childhood hero and a professional football like Sergio Aguero getting involved in it makes it even worse.
Every football player, be it Garnacho or anyone else should be entitled to have their opinion and no player should be bullied or forced into having an opinion. What Sergio Aguero and some other Argentines commented on Garnacho’s post puts a lot of pressure on the Argentine to not call Cristiano Ronaldo the Greatest player of all time again in his future posts.
